Hairdressing is one of the best industries in the world; it allows you freedom to create yourself and be who or what you want to be. Through your creations you can change your world and also help others to change theirs. The hairdressing industry is the only one where you can inspire confidence and support others through art and fashion, enabling each person their individuality while simply having fun. The hairdresser has the ability to lift the spirits of those who are feeling down and transform the introverted into strong and confident people just by changing their appearance. What hairdressers do every day with every client is to create a new style and make them feel good about themselves and about life in general.
This vision and attitude, shared with me throughout my apprenticeship in 1976, radically changed my view of my chosen career. Hairdressing became not just another job or another client, but inspired me to believe that anything was possible. I learned that in hairdressing we are free to achieve our highest goals.
Great mentors and visionaries in the hairdressing industry became a vehicle for me to an incredible lifestyle. Leading the way was the one man who single-handedly changed both the way hairdressers styled hair and how we viewed our careers. Vidal Sassoon gave the industry a new standard that, to this day, remains the foundation to great hairdressing. He gave a message to all hairdressers to stand up and believe in who they are as individuals and thus, not being labelled and put in a box.
He came from a time in post-war England where it was looked down upon to not follow the system; everybody and everything had its place. But with determination and vision Vidal Sassoon branded himself and made Vidal Sassoon a household name, so much so, that whenever people thought about hair and fashion they thought of Vidal Sassoon.
With this as an example, our vision through Niche Professional Branding is to provide a vehicle for the professional hairdresser to "stop being labelled and to be their own brand" and by doing this, to stand out from the crowd. Niche wants to give hairdressers the opportunity to have their own line; creatively representing their salon both in their retail hair-care products, and also on their walls and windows — so that every passer-by can see their work and their vision.
The name of the salon should stand out and emphasize what the salon stands for, proudly displaying their work and their name; this will display both confidence and professionalism to the client. We want your salon's clients to enjoy their hairstyles. But, as well, every time they wash their hair, the name they see on the bottle they will remind your clients of the salon where they had the style created. As a result, when your clients see and/or use your product they think of going to one place- back to the professional.
